It's early morning as I lie in bed my alarm clock radio awakens me from my twilight sleep.
Head on the pillow considering one more rollover before I arise, then I hear the announcer use that dreaded word "corona"!
At this point it's now four weeks into our state "stay in place" mandate. Although my office is based at home, the mandate has changed my external life activities. The routine run to the post office or office supply store is now a 25-minute pre-check ordeal of plastic gloves, face mask, and grabbing a precious can of Lysol to conscientiously wipe down countless surfaces.
Standing in line at the post office [yes, at the new "social distance of 6-feet apart] as the cue slowly proceeds we reluctantly look into one another's eyes hoping to spot a familiar face. In some customers' eyes I see frustration, others I see sadness, a few I see "smiling" eyes and others I see outright fear.
Finally, as I drive home from a usual 10-minute activity which now takes 30 to 40 minutes I begin to digest this newfound scenario.
I sit in the car and pray---"Lord, I see fear rising in and around people like waves in the ocean. Help us Lord, because THIS is not normal!"
As I prayed, in response, I hear a still small voice in my heart---"Daughter, remember and tell them, perfect Love of Me drives out fear. Remind them of HOW much I love them!"
A quiet calm now blanketed my soul and the peace level within my heart rose.
"There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection]." I John 4:18 AMPC
God wants to remind YOU that HE Loves you, He invites you to draw closer to His Loving Presence which as a whimpering child a caring parent's presence soothes their cries and fears. He invites our love relationship with Him to GROW and MATURE.
"For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers, Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38,39 AMPC
God says, NOTHING---including a virus, could ever separate Him from loving you!
"May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love,
That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it];" Ephesians 3: 17, 19 AMPC
Today, in the midst of confusing reports and a cacophony of voices searching for an answer...may we choose THE ANSWER, THE REMEDY, THE ANTIDOTE to fear?
May we choose to FALL INTO the expanse of God's Love?
With or without masks and gloves, I'm make the choice to plunge deeper to SWIM in it!
Until next time...
Blessings,
