How does the dictionary define the word, MOTHER?
In serving thousands of families in the past twenty years, the thought and emotions evoked of Mother's Day can vary based on one's particular life experiences and encounters.
It can bring joyful childhood memories and warm thoughts of raising your own children. It can be filled with gut-wrenching sorrow over the loss of natural children, infertility or broken relationships with adult children. It can also be a time to reflect on the countless lives you have impacted as a "spiritual/ mentor" mom to others.
Regardless of the "mother" scenario, we can be encouraged to know God thought highly enough of YOU to bring you to planet earth through the womb of a woman!
"Before I made you in your mother's womb, I chose you. Before you were born, I set you apart for a special work. I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1:5 NCV
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. " Psalm 139:13,14 NIV
No matter if your mom was a "Clare Huxtable" - Cosby Show type or a "Roseann" from the Roseann show version---there is GOOD news!
God is willing and able to heal the deepest of our childhood wounds, so we are free to live, love ourselves and love others.
Yet, the bigger realization of recognizing Mother's Day...is to CELEBRATE the life YOU are given...ask God to reveal to you the SPECIAL WORK He has foreordained for your life to fulfill while here on the earth.
"Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
you formed me in my mother’s womb.
I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out,
you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared
before I’d even lived one day."
Psalm 139:13-16 MSG
The thought causes one to become...humbly GRATEFUL.
Mom, be encouraged…You are in GREAT company!
"She’s up before dawn, preparing breakfast for her family and organizing her day.
She looks over a field and buys it, then, with money she’s put aside, plants a garden.
First thing in the morning, she dresses for work, rolls up her sleeves, eager to get started.
She senses the worth of her work, is in no hurry to call it quits for the day.
She’s skilled in the crafts of home and hearth, diligent in homemaking.
She’s quick to assist anyone in need, reaches out to help the poor."
Proverbs 31:13-18 MSG
God speaks of this woman as one who is to be PRAISED!
Multiplied Blessings upon both the natural AND spiritual mothers of our generation. May you receive and walk in the revelation and acceptance of God's unfailing Love for you.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to you and yours!💐💕💐💕
